Social media has become a legitimate source of news and information. During hard COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns, livestreaming events on social platforms has been helping fill the void, offering new ways for brands, experts, influencers and customers to connect. The dramatic uptake in social media use this past two years presented an irresistible opportunity for brands to put themselves front and centre in the conversation.
In ensuring popular participation, the KwaZulu-Natal Legislature appointed Igunundu to provide for the implementation and publicity of KZN Legislature programs through social media platforms.
“Igunundu is honoured to have been appointed. Through this campaign, we will help the Legislature in reaching more people thus ensuring quality policy formulation, implementation and monitoring. We believe that access to information is a right that should be extended to all citizens. In South Africa, language is a major barrier to the extension of this right. Information technology offers the opportunity to improve the flow of information between citizens and government, thereby building dialogue and participation beyond elections,” says Anathi Mtaka, Account Director at Igunundu.
This is a three-year appointment starting from September 2022 – 2025.
